ASCII Start Code = STX (02) ASCII End Code = ETX (03) Cable shown here works with xOn/xOff (DC1/DC3) flow control and RTS/CTS (Hardware flow control so should work in most cases. But if you're sure your CNC does not use any flow control - or requires only xOn/xOff then you may use the the simpler 3 wire cable.
Hello to all, I'm having trouble connecting a transposed serial interface cable (25-pin: Id. Re Zero Episode 1 English Dub Kissanime. 275 545-xx 9polig: Id. 366 964-xx) with an. Pop Rocks Font here.
Bridgeport: Let's assume you can run in software handshake mode, then you only need three wires. If the connector on the machine is wired like HAAS or Fanuc, then run pin 2 to pin 2, 3 to 3, and 7 on CNC to 5 on PC. On the 25 pin cable connector jumer 4 to 5, and separately 6, 8, and 20 together. Pin 1 on CNC goes to the cable shield.
Your maximum baud rate is determined either the cable length or the CNC maximum capability. Use 7 data bits, even parity, 1 stop bit, and XON/XOFF.
For possibly better results consider our I232 isolator system. Here's a link to the pin designations for 9 and 25 pin connectors, along with a tutorial in RS232C communications. I used it to make up a null modem cable so my TNC 151a communicates with my PC. Here're the resulting pin connections, 9 pin # first, 25 pin # second: 1-8, 2-2, 3-3, 4-6, 5-7, 6-20, 7-5, 8-4. Pin 1 on the 25 pin connector is the shield/ground and is connected to the TNC chassis. Probably way more wires than necessary, but it's worked fine for me for 10 years. Gar's settings work for my 151 also.
